Sarah's Poem - as read out at her Nan's funeral on 2nd June, 2020

My Dear Nan

It’s hard to believe you’re gone Nan
you were the best there could be,
Your kind and caring ways and the
memories we made I will treasure forever.

Although you’re gone your memory
will live on through Emilia and Matilda
and this will never fade away, they loved
their Nanny Mau Mau, and will
hold a special place in their hearts
forever and ever more.

They know that Heaven has gained a
beautiful Angel, and when we look up at
the stars we know that’s where you’ll be.

Nan, I miss you more than words could ever
What I would give to see you one last
time to tell you how much I love you, and
how grateful you were mine.

You were such a blessing, so thoughtful
and so true.  I feel eternally grateful
to have had a Nan like you.  I see you Nan
when I close my eyes, always in my dreams
No matter how much time will pass I will
miss you every day.  You were a very special
lady, a special Nan to me.

Living without you is the hardest part of
all, you did so many things for us, your
heart was kind and true.

All those special years will not return when
we were all together, but with the love
in our hearts you will walk with us forever.

I know you’re not far away, Nan, you’re always
close by.  I say goodbye for now Nan,
until we one day meet again.

Love you always
Nan
